EK Success Punches – A Guide on What to Use For Your Crafting Projects
EK Success Punches are made so that you can choose from many different shapes and sizes to suit all your craft projects. There are so many variations to choose from.
You can use a circle or a square punch because maybe you wanted to punch out a stamped image for a card and keep in mind that you can choose two different sized circles so you could layer each circle to also give your project that added design.
You can change the look of any project by adding dimension and EK Success has four dimensional punches. Just take decorative paper and turn it into a flower! If you are making a greeting card, I would not use this punch as you will not be able to mail it because of the dimension height of the flower. These are used more for decorating a Scrapbook page, book, shadow box, photo frame, and much more. It is amazing how unique these dimensional flowers look! People will not believe you made these and they do not have to know how easy it was.
If you want to change the same old look of a greeting card or your Scrapbook Page, then you could choose to use a corner punch. You could do the simplest thing and just punch the corner for a rounded look or you could give it a more decorative fancy look and choose the scalloped corner or lacing, or a bubbles corner for more of a funny decoration. Each corner punch brings to life a different feel for your project.
Another type of punch that is similar to the corner punch is called the edger. You can punch the whole edge of your card or piece of paper with so many different shapes whether it is for a birthday card or scrapbook page or maybe you are making Christmas cards, there are so many different Christmas edgers to choose from and Halloween edgers, etc.!
You can get real fancy and use a layering punch which is basically three punches in one. There is a little lever on the back and you have to place the selector button on whichever punch you wish to use. Use each punch by placing a different color paper each time you select a different punch this way you can create the layering effect.
The last kind of “specialty” punch I want to talk about is called a garland punch. This could not be any easier to use yet creates such a great look! Just punch out as many of the punches you would like and link them together for a “garland” look! You can either punch them in one color so that your garland is uniform or choose to use different colors.
